OUR LADY OF MEDJUGORJR - 25th ANNIVERSARY MESSAGES

Since 1981, in a small village in Bosnia-Hercegovina named Medjugorje, the Blessed Virgin Mary has been appearing and giving messages to the world.

June 25, 2006 (Our Lady's 25th Anniversary Message)
"Dear children! With great joy in my heart I thank you for all the prayers that, in these days, you offered for my intentions. Know, little children, that you will not regret it, neither you nor your children. God will reward you with great graces and you will earn eternal life. I am near you and thank all those who, through these years, have accepted my messages, have poured them into their life and decided for holiness and peace. Thank you for having responded to my call."


Since June 25, 1981, Mary the Mother of God is reported to visit daily with several young adults in this Croatian village in Bosnia-Hercegovina, bringing messages on how to achieve peace in our hearts, homes and world.

Medjugorje has become an international center of prayer, devotion and conversion of the heart. Our Lady has told the visionaries that these are her last appearances on earth and it is for this reason her visits are so long and frequent. She has come to tell us "God exists". Before her last appearance she has promised to leave a visible sign on the mountain where the first apparition occurred so that all will believe.

While the Catholic Church has yet to approve any of the modern day apparitions, in 1986, The Holy Father said, "Let the people go to Medjugorje if they convert, pray, confess, do penance and fast." Some 30 million laity and clergy have visited and returned home spiritually renewed.

Despite the war in Bosnia, Medjugorje remains a center of peace and of profound spirituality.

The call from the Queen of Peace is:

PEACE! PEACE! PEACE! - is necessary to save humanity. We have to begin by creating peace first within our own hearts. This can be done in the following manner:

• COMMUNICATION WITH GOD - Open your heart to Him. Allow yourself to be guided by His will rather than the earthly desires upon which we base our lives in our world today.
• FAITH - Believe and trust in Him.
• PRAYER - specifically Our Lady has called for daily prayer consisting of 7 Our Fathers, 7 Hail Marys, 7 Glory to the Father and the Apostle's Creed. Then the whole Rosary, reading of the Scriptures, and personal communication with God.
• FASTING - on bread and water twice a week (Wednesdays and Fridays)if possible. This includes restraining oneself from personal cravings (smoking, drinking, etc).
• FREQUENTLY RECEIVING THE HOLY SACREMENT. She strongly encourages monthly confessions and receiving communion as often as possible.
